| Frenchman's Cove
Back in the 1960s you might have seen Richard Burton and Elizabeth Taylor cavorting on the beach in this cove, 8km (5 miles) east of the center of Port Antonio. The beach enjoys its scenic spot on a windswept headland; you can enjoy one of the area's best white-sand beaches. It costs $3 to enter daily from 9am to 5pm. There are showers on the beach to wash away the sand.
San San Beach, about 5 mi (8 km) east of Port Antonio, has beautiful blue waters and is used mainly by area villa or hotel owners and their guests.
Winnifred Beach
This is the best public beach east of Port Antonio. It lies just to the east of Dragon Bay Beach, en route to Boston Bay Beach. The half-moon-shaped strip of sand attracts more islanders than visitors. Offshore is a dramatic reef of living coral teeming with marine life, attracting snorkelers to this beach.
Reggae parties are sometimes staged here on a Saturday night. During the day a boatman or two will take you out on a bamboo raft or one of their small craft to a secluded little beach just around the headland;
No admission fee is charged, and for lunch a number of jerk huts line the shore.
