At Discovery Bay, where it is generally believed Columbus first landed in Jamaica, you’ll find Puerto Seco Beach. The beach is a narrow white-sand strip that opens onto a calm shallow swimming area.
Puerto Seco is also a park that promises lots of fun for beach-goers of all ages and is often a favourite retreat of Jamaican families from as far as Kingston.
On the grassy patch beyond the beach, kids will enjoy the colourful and exciting mini-amusement park with bounce-abouts and merry-go-round rides. Along the beach, pick a table and spread a picnic in the shade of tall coconut trees. If you didn’t pack a basket – no problem! Puerto Seco also has a snack bar with tasty treats and cool drinks.
Time 'n' Place - Falmouth
IF YOU GOT THE TIME, THEN WE GOT THE PLACE. Stop.
Park in the shade. Time 'n' Place is a bar and three cottages on a deserted two-mile-long beach. The bar looks like it is built of driftwood with a thatched roof. At the few tables and benches you can order superb jerk chicken or lobster, served either steamed or grilled, and have daiquiris made with fresh fruit.
